Either way, the whole process will go smoother if you do some prep work the day before. First and foremost, will want to plan the work for a sunny day that has no rain in the forecast. Be diligent about checking the weather forecast and be on the lookout for any changes on the day you plan on taking on this project. Second, if you have anything that would get in the way of your power washing or could be damaged in the process, then you will want to move it to a safe location. If you plan DIYing it, another factor to consider is protective gear. When you power wash a fence, you may have a lot of small splinters and wood chips coming back at you. As a precaution, you will want to wear gloves, safety glasses, a long sleeve shirt, and full-length pants.
