Reasons to Bring a Puppy into Your Home

At Green Haven Homes we enjoy building homes that families can make memories in. That is why we build kitchens you want to gather in, living rooms you want to cuddle in, and backyards you can play in. So much goes into making a house a home, and for some, having a family dog is a part of that. If you are considering whether to add a puppy to your family, here are a few good reasons you should.

Puppies are Cute

This one is a given, but surely, you will agree that puppies are terribly cute. Sure, they require effort to train, but they make up for it by making you say “aw” with almost everything they do. A puppy play session can give you a nice dose of feel good serotonin hormones, too. So, if you are interested in being a bit happier, then puppies are for you!

Puppies Lower Stress

It probably has a little something to do with the fact that they are so cute, but puppies are proven stress reducers. They are known to lower blood pressure to be specific. Puppies pour out endless love and affection that can help you when you might normally feel stressed out. Couldn’t we all use that right about now?

Puppies Become Loyal Companions

Dogs form strong bonds with their families. They can sense when you are sad and are quick to offer you comfort. There have even been documented cases of non-service dogs alerting other family members when an individual’s health is in danger. Dogs will always be there for you. It is no wonder why they are often called man’s best friend.

Puppies Keep You Active

Yes, puppies have a lot of energy, but even when dogs get older, they still require walks. Science has long praised the benefits of walking regularly. Oftentimes, though, we get busy. And many do not make walking a priority. A puppy can help keep you healthy and active though by requiring you to take them on daily strolls.

The list arguing the advantages of getting a puppy could go on and on. Puppies can teach kids responsibility. They can give youngsters a playmate. They can keep you silly and playful. The bottom line is that puppies are a wonderful addition to any family. Of course, consider that getting a dog is a commitment and do all the research you can to make sure it is the right choice for you and your family.
